In four weeks our sweet baby girl is due to make her appearance. When that happens I feel like the dynamic of our little white house is most definitely going to change!

Let me explain.

When we found out that I was expecting and Gram passed away the entire time I just felt like I was going to have a girl. They call it intuition. I was right but you know-not bragging about that ;)

At the same time Jason was convinced that is was a boy. Until a few days before we were going to have the gender ultrasound.

I was puttering around the house and all the sudden out of the blue Jason turns to me and quietly says: "I think it is going to be a girl."

I asked him why and his reply was: "Well, we know what to do with boys I think God is going to mix things up."

And he was right!

I feel very comfortable with boys. Boys are pretty easy at this point. Yes, their energy makes me want to go hide and eat chocolate on a regular basis  occasionally but other than that-we have setttled into our boy filled home with not too much issue.

Over the last few weeks I have really started to realize that our little world is about to be turned upside down in a very exciting but somewhat terrifying way.

Enter our baby girl.

So I have been preparing the boys and they are so very excited for their baby but it has definitely made me stop and think about some things.

Like the fact that they will someday (Lord willing) have wives and daughters of their own. How am I going to train them to treat women in general? And that every day is training and teaching them in some way to grow to be Godly young men that love and serve others.

So I have been challenged-I realized I am teaching them even when I don't say a word.

And yes-that thought scares me! Why? Well-I am FAR from perfect or even far from being anywhere near perfect when it comes to my mothering.

Then I came across the following quote:


Is that not the most beautiful thing you have read lately? Forget trying to be perfect and pinterest worthy in everything I do.

Just love.

So that is my new goal: love my boys. Love my husband. Love my baby girl. Love those around me. Love my God.

Yes, things are going to change when Clara decides to make her appearance!

Yes, there are days where I do not love the way I need to.

Yes, I serve a God that I can lean on for help on the days I just do not know what to do. Because with His help all things are possible!!

And when I start thinking about that-all the sudden raising my boys does not seem like such a scary and impossible thing!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and as I stand here and think about what I am most thankful it would have to be my precious family! So I thought I would brag on them for a few minutes (bear with me lol).



Jason-my love, my life, my anchor, my best friend. Words can not describe how in awe I am of the wonders that God has done in our marriage since March! We went through a fire and God refined us and continues to work on us. Painful at times but truly beautiful!


Elijah-My two and a half year old. My sweet boy who loves his Mama and is so sensitive and caring (most of the time lol).
My brave boy who loves wrestling with Daddy, playing outside, adventures with his Aunties and life in general! He is obsessed with horses and anything related to horses and just loves his brother.





 He is talking constantly and sometimes the things he says can catch me off guard! I am so grateful to God for my little man :)

Micah-he will be one year old in less then a month! Where has the time gone?! My sweet boy!


 He is so happy most of the time (teething has really wreaked havoc on his poor mouth) and has the sweetest smile!

For anyone that has little ones you know just how fast a house can go from clean to...well...not so clean.

Its ok. We have all been there and there is no judgement here! I mean seriously-I will even prove it to you:

Ok, so just being real here-I am not an organized/tidy/clean freak by nature. No, really just ask my Mom and she can tell you a few things about what my room looked like all those years ago then I was a pre-adolescent. Ok, and into teen hood. Oh fine! And right into adult hood.

The truth is-I struggle with laziness.

Yup, there is is all typed out for the world to see.

L_a_z_i_n_e_s_s_.

However, the Lord has been working with me on trying to bring honor and glory to Him by not being lazy in so many areas of my life (more on that later)!

One of those areas is cleaning.

Ever wake up and your kitchen looked like this?

Today I am turning 24 years old. Weird. That is how I feel about it. Like really 24? HOW did that happen? ;)

I am so very blessed! I was reflecting over the past year and am just in awe of what the Lord has done and is doing.

SO many life changing things happened. One of the bigger ones was the birth of this little man:

He has changed our lives forever and I am so thankful for him. He is one of my favorite gifts :)

One of my other favorite gifts is my TWO year old (I wonder how fast time will seem to fly by till we are celebrating HIS 24th birthday!?) :)


My boys-I always wanted to have boys especially after being able to babysit for a family with three boys when I was a teenager for a few years!


Another gift is watching them together and seeing their relationship grow every day. They adore each other and that is so beautiful to me :)



Another relationship that has been growing more beautiful this year is our marriage. We reached a really tough place in March but the beauty that has come from re-surrendering our relationship to the Lord is beyond both of our imaginations!

To PROCLAIM what God has done-He has made my family new and I am forever grateful and thankful to Him for that! :)

My mom made me hash brown casserole and an AWESOME steak and chicken salad. Deliciousness! :)

So the other week I went to this little antique store in our town that I absolutely LOVE. I found this Betty Crocker cook book for kids and because I loved the illustrations and it was less that $2 I bought it.

There is a biscuit recipe in there that I decided to give a go. Now mind you-I have never made a biscuit in my life unless you count the ones in the can and my bread products I try to make at home...normally do NOT work out.

But everyone has to be brave and jump in when it comes to cooking sooner or later in life-so I decided to make some drop biscuits and...they were good.

So a few nights ago I was having a guest over for dinner and I wanted to make Chicken Pot Pie but I did NOT want to make the pie part.

So I went to allrecipes.com and lo and behold there was a recipe for chicken pot pie without the pie part called "Chicken and Biscuit Casserole". But I decided to just take the filling recipe and make that then make my own biscuits and just serve it over them (much easier in my opinion). They turned out amazing!

Like-from a can but...NOT.

So then today Elijah and I were getting to where we wanted some lunch. Jason had left some soup in the crockpot but I just did NOT want...soup. Something needed to go with it.

So I decided to make those biscuits again AND take pictures so I could share my new favorite go to recipe with my amazing blogger friends :)
