The last two days were special days!!!! Ok, so we can all say that each day the Lord gives us is special but some are just more special than others! :)

Two days ago marked two years since I had met Jason. In my mind I was finally surrendered to being a very single missionary nurse. And I was content with that!

But then a friend from my girls Bible study told me about this other Bible study she had been going to on Sunday nights. Then she casually mentioned that there was a guy leading it named Jason....who was my age and    single. Ahem. Do you know how few and far between guys who are serious enough to be leading a Bible study and are single can be? In my case that had never been. At all. Anywhere close.

Well, that I knew of. I found out later after saying over and over again I would never find a husband in good ole' NY that Jason had lived about 20 minutes away from me almost my entire life. Ahem.

So anyway, I noticed him right away and for some reason was drawn to him. He was such a godly leader, powerful prayer warrior and looked really handsome in that white button down shirt and khakis! :) So I went away crying and telling the Lord I was not even going to think about guys I was devoted and finally content with being single and a missionary nurse...I prayed that for a few months but nothing seemed to happen! In fact, the Lord kept putting Jason in my path more often!!! :)

Very Early on Jason showing me how to do balloon animals ;) Well, one year and two months TO THE DAY that we met (true to his sister Sarah's prediction) this happened: I married my prince. The Love of my life. The greatest gift that God had ever given me and oh it was so worth the wait! I smile when I look at the couple in these pictures :) We had no idea what the next few months would bring or what challenges we would face or how much we would grow. We had no idea how God would prove Himself to us over and over again in so many amazing ways! 2 days ago marked 2 years of knowing each other but-it also marked 10 months of marriage. So much has happened in the past 10 months it has absolutely blown my mind. And yet there we were 2 days ago-2 weeks away from another big change in our life story: We are still waiting on our little man's appearance! I am 38 weeks now and SO READY for him to be here ;) I can hardly wait to meet him! Life is going to change forever in a good way :) What a special day! Wow! Ok, so then yesterday was a special day as well! My prince turned 22 years old! And yes-I signed the note I put in his lunch today "Your loving 21 year YOUNG wife". Ahem. We didn't celebrate yesterday because he had to work anyway so we celebrated a few days earlier :) It is funny just because he is so funny with his meal choices. He wanted sausages, broccoli and guacamole. And no desert-just fresh berries. When asked what he wanted for a gift he thought about it and then said: "Car wax". Ok. We went shopping for his dinner and then came home and opened presents. It was a lot of fun! In our family birthdays have always been a HUGE deal so even if your don't get a lot of stuff you still get to have your special day :) The only reason I included this picture was so you all could see my almost 38 week belly. This baby is getting bigger and bigger!!! Getting ready to eat the strawberry shortcake with homemade strawberry sauce and fresh strawberries, kiwis and cool whip on top. Yumminess!!! :) He was annoyed he had to wait to have a pic snapped before digging in lol :) All in all it was a very good day and week and 2 years! I am so blessed to have this man in my life and I can hardly wait to spend the next 50 years by his side Lord willing :) Have a blessed day!

As for other lessons the Lord is teaching me? Well, I might have to do another whole post on that! However, today I woke up early to get Jason off to work and after deciding it would be worthless to go to bed again I got on facebook and came across this status from one of my good friends:

Do you realize that we serve an amazing God? A God that, not only, cares about the big things in our life but the small things as well?

OK, so I am less than four weeks away from my due date and getting bigger everyday. So, I have all the sudden realized that, while it seems as though I have been pregnant for...well...my entire life!

•  Ok, maybe not that long but seriously I have almost forgotten what it is like to NOT be pregnant! Anywho, I am realizing that this little man is coming soon and I need to prepare some things.

One of the biggest things I have been thinking about lately is food. My husband is a voracious eater! Truly, he could eat every hour on the hour it is insane!!

 SO I am thinking about meals after baby is here that will be easy to prepare and even easier to clean up after!

Enter freezer meals. And pinterest. Ahem. Yes, I am now addicted a member. And wow they have some neat ideas!

So anyway, that is something that I am planning on getting onto for sure but in the meantime-one thing that Jason and I already love is french toast. I have started making a bigger batches and freeze some then during the week we can just pull them out and pop them in the toaster. It is so easy and SO yummy!

So, I had wanted to make a big batch of french toast. The only problem is that I like to get organic eggs but they are like $4.59ish at the stores here and the cheaper ones we don't like to eat as much. But it was just a passing thought and I just didn't really think about it much after that.

So yesterday I entered a store to pick up a few things. Ahem. I got to the egg section and what did I find? ORGANIC EGGS for $0.50 A DOZEN!!!


I was absolutely shocked! So I bought eight dozen! The lady told me that they go on sale like that EVERY month because no one buys them! Uh-mazing! Not only that-but good bread that we love to eat (Arnolds) was buy one get one free!

So, I bought all my stuff and brought it all home just amazed at how God provides just when we need it!

So this morning I got all my ingredients together and started cooking:



For my french toast I combine:

• Eggs 
• Milk
• Vanilla
• Cinnamon

See that man in the background? That is my amazing prince of a husband :) And James is one of our youth boys :)

The "fruits" of my labor! 11 bags with eight pieces in each bag=88 pieces of french toast! For a little over $10 and it should last us a few months! :) I am so happy! God is just absolutely amazing! What a blessing this will be in the upcoming months and you know what it wasn't something that was HUGE but the Lord still gave it to us :) So, any amazing ways that God has blessed you with lately? I would love to hear about them!

So one of my wonderful friends here in Florida gave me a maternity photo session for a gift and we got the pictures back :)

And now-I need your help!

My friend posted this on face book and it was something that I absolutely wanted to share with all of my readers!

Modesty is something that I am passionate about and ever since getting married it is something I am even more passionate about because the lack of modesty that is so prevalent in our world today effects my husband and someday will effect my son.

What a difference I believe there would be if we began to truly think how we would want other women to dress around our husbands and then dress according to that. I know it makes me think!

And I want to know your thoughts-what do you think?

A long time ago (ok so less than two years ago because that is how long I have known him) I was just starting to get to know Jason. "Oddly enough" he had started spending a lot more time with us at church and Bible studies and just hanging out (ok don't judge me I was still in denial lol).

At the time we went as a group to clean a friend of our families house. They were returning from a year in the mission field and the people that had been renting their house had just up and left leaving a wreck at their house (literally it smelled so bad we were gagging the first time we went in).

We got to work but there were two places people did not want to touch. That was the two bathrooms. We truly thought that we were going to have to replace to toilets they were so beyond disgusting.

We worked the first evening and then continued to come back and work on the house over the next few days. The toilets had stilled not been cleaned and no one out of the group was going near them with a 10 foot pole! Then-one night Jason did something that made such an impression on me and spoke volumes about his character.

I remember distinctly working in the living room and glancing up to see him quietly scrubbing away at the worst toilet out of the two. He didn't make a big deal about it. He didn't draw attention to it. He just did it. He took the least desirable job that no one wanted and did something about it. Humbly. Quietly. Without a word of complaint.

I remember just standing there amazed. Watching him and realizing that I had seen just another thing that proved that he was a man of depth and character.

He scrubbed that toilet for a long LONG time and by the time it was done it looked brand new. Once it was done he just moved on to the next thing that needed to be done  but that left such an impression.

Why do I bring this up again?

Well, last night I was laying in bed absolutely exhausted and unable to move. When all the sudden I blearily opened my eyes and there my husband was-cleaning the toilets. His sister came today and he was doing his best to help clean.

Now, you have to understand, that the bathroom is a chore I really do not like at all and so just seeing him sacrificially just serving and trying to make things easier on his very swollen, exhausted pregnant wife just reminded me again what depth of character my husband has.

He is such a prince. Truly, he was so worth waiting for! To think that God blessed me with such a godly man truly humbles me. I am so thankful!

Besides Jesus-Jason is the best thing that has ever happened to me.


Who would have thought that scrubbing toilets would be a reminder of how blessed I truly am? God is so good!
