I used to....

12:36 AM

I used to look like this:

And I thought I had a baby bump...HAH! Excuse the messy hair please! :)

And then I looked like this:

And now I look like this (actually I swear I have grown since these pics were taken a few days ago not even kidding)-

(taken by my amazing friend Darla)

And you want to know something? I would not change it for the world.
I was going through all my pre-pregnancy clothes sifting through and as I went through
small/mediums and size alotsmallerthanthesizeIamwearingnow jeans-
I realized I wouldn't trade it for the world.

So what that my body has definitely changed.
So what that I have stretched more then I ever thought possible
and, oh yeah, am going to stretch even more in the
weeks to come (insert a small "EEP" here).
There is a reason for all these changes.
That reason is the miracle of life that is growing inside my belly!
My little man.
Elijah Boy.
That is enough to make me never want to go back to
that girl I was before all this.
Now, I feel like I am a woman.
And not only that-but a woman with a baby growing inside.
My belly is his first home.
The place God created for him to be until he could survive in
the world with us.
That is such a miracle!
One I have longed for my entire life.
To be a wife first-
than a Mama.
I am glad that I am moving on from used to-
because the future has some amazing things in store I think! :)

Disclaimer: Does this mean I am not going to eat healthy/excercise when Elijah is here and take care of my body in a healthy way? No. Obviously I will work to get my body back even though-I am pretty sure it will never be exactly the way it used to be BUT that is ok :) Elijah is worth it!

Stay tuned I will be announcing the winner of our give away soon!

Wow, the changes life brings. I have enjoyed and been so encouraged by your blogs for the past year or so. I'm very excited to see where God takes you and your family!
    Through Christ

    1. Awww you are such an encouragement to me!!! Thank you for being such a joy :) And yeah it will be interesting to see where He takes us for sure!!!!

  8. Hold on to this mentality, girlfriend. There will be days afterward (mostly during those post-partum-raging-hormones) where you might be tempted to feel less-than glamorous about your new body. But the truth here is still the same, and still that much the truth! When we become Mama's we change SO MUCH. Inside and outside. Not only does our body stretch (and oh man, did mine ever. I even have stretch marks behind my KNEES!!! :P) but our heart and soul does too. When we submit to what God has in store for us, he uses Motherhood as an opportunity to grow us like we've never known. It was that way for me, anyway. I felt like a whole new layer of me came out, and an old layer sloughed off. It was a whole new revelation of who I was in Christ. A whole new revelation of just how selfish I really was, and how much I needed to find my source in Him. And just like the aches and pains that come with bearing a child, it hurt. The refining process is never easy...but oh, so worth it. So, always remember...we're not JUST the body we see in the mirror, we are the reflection of Christ in the way we love our husband, children, and our neighbors. And we're defined by HIM above all. :)

    1. Thank you so so so much for this encouragement!! I believe that it will def be a reminder that I come back to again and again and again!!! I am so excited honestly to just see what He is going to do and how He is going to change me! Wow! What an adventure this will be!!! :)
